Covid - community connections

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Scourie Community Development Company provided a number of services to ensure connections within the community were protected and nurtured.

Community Food Larder

This was established within the premises of Scourie’s only shop – Parkers. It ensured the shop was safeguarded until the lockdowns were lifted and was instrumental to its survival.

Support for Energy Costs
Support was available to individuals and households towards energy costs, white goods replacements and mobile phone top-ups.

One-to-One Counselling
With an increasing call for access to mental health counselling, Scourie Community Development Company provided one-to-one counselling sessions to help individuals in the community.

Creative Box
Creative boxes to enable children, people shielding, and others in the community to try therapeutic art sessions.

Personal Protective Equipment
PPE has been provided for local businesses, community buildings and residents as needed.

Christmas Lunch
A three-course Christmas lunch was delivered to all elderly residents in the community and treat boxes to all children, and a food hamper, including Christmas and New Year meals, went to the most vulnerable households in the area.
